Our Story
It all began with an idea, a passion, and creative expression!
DJUVVA is a Canadian based company, founded in 2022 by two friends, mothers, and women of colour, Maya and Lauren.
They met several years prior to starting their business while both working on a design team for a popular section of the Scotiabank Caribbean Carnival (Caribana).
With strong appreciation for their Caribbean culture and a shared passion for design, they became fast friends. Recognizing a kindred spirit in each other's devotion to the creative, a desire to share their designs was ignited. It was only a matter of time before artistic inspiration and business minds merged and DJUVAA was born.

To curate top tier collections and design exquisite pieces of fine jewelry. Our brand is Infused with Caribbean flare and stands for inclusivity. Each piece, created for people from all walks of life, transcends gender, size, colour and preference, appealing to even the most discerning of tastes.

About Maya
Maya was born in the beautiful twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago. With a Trinidadian father and an Antiguan mother she would attend school in Trinidad and spend holidays in Antigua.
Actively involved in the Carnival scene in both Trinidad and Antigua from a young age, Maya developed a special passion for cultural designs.

After finding love and marrying a Canadian, Maya moved to Canada and shortly thereafter started a family with her husband.
While Maya has a successful career in teaching, she has always had a calling to create and design, infusing it with Caribbean culture wherever she can. Despite being a busy new mom, she is ecstatic to pour her energy and expertise into bringing DJUVAA to life.
About Lauren
Lauren is Canadian born, and with parents hailing from the small Caribbean islands of St. Kitts and St. Vincent, she feels a deep connection to her Caribbean roots,

A self proclaimed "Island Hopper", Lauren has travelled all across the Caribbean and even spent two years living and working in Trinidad in the 2010's.
​
Although she has worked a corporate job since graduating from University, Lauren has always been driven by her creativity.
When she isn't crunching numbers or on mommy duty, she chases a multitude of creative outlets; sketching, make-up artistry, and cake decoration to name a few. Partnering to create DJUVAA was a perfect fit and a dream come true.
